The short version

This policy explains how Winnie's Depot handles personal information when you visit our website, place an order or get in touch. Here are the main points:

  • We collect the information we need to take your order, deliver it and support you afterward.
  • Payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
  • We share information only with the companies that help us run the store, such as our payment processor and delivery carriers, and only what they need.
  • We never sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@winniesdepot.com.

What we collect

When you place an order

You pay on PayPal's secure checkout page. Your payment details go directly to PayPal, which shares with us what we need to fill your order: your name, email address, shipping address and, if you give one, your phone number. Freight items need a phone number so the carrier can call to book your delivery window; if we don't have one, we'll email you to ask.

If you order by email instead, we receive your email address and the order details you send us.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as your order number, photos of a product or details of a problem.

When you browse

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. This helps keep the site secure and running smoothly.

You don't need an account to shop with us. The items in your cart are saved in your own browser (see cookies and local storage).

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • Process your payment, pack your order and deliver it
  • Send order confirmations and delivery updates, and reply to your messages
  • Handle returns, refunds and warranty claims
  • Calculate sales tax where it applies
  • Prevent fraud and keep our store and customers secure
  • Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

We won't add you to a marketing email list without your permission.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the store, and only what each one needs to do its job:

  • PayPal, which processes payments
  • Shipping and freight carriers, which receive your name, delivery address and, for freight orders, your phone number
  • Our website hosting and email providers, which store and transmit information on our behalf

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our customers or our business from fraud, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

We never sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Payments

When you check out, you're taken to a secure payment page run by PayPal, where you can pay with PayPal, Pay Later, Apple Pay or card. You don't need a PayPal account. Your payment details go straight to PayPal and never pass through or sit on our servers. We receive only what we need to manage your order, such as your name, contact details, shipping address and the amount paid.

PayPal handles payment information under its own privacy statement.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your cart is saved in your browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back. It stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time by emptying your cart or clearing your browser's data for our site.

PayPal's checkout page uses its own cookies to process payments securely and prevent fraud. If we ever add tools that use cookies, such as site analytics, we'll update this policy first.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them to support your purchase, including the 3-year warranty, and to meet tax and accounting requirements. We keep emails you send us for as long as they're useful for helping you. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

Our website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), payments are processed by PayPal, and access to customer information is limited to the people and services that need it to run the store. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your information, and if a breach ever affects you, we'll let you know as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy
  • Correct information that's wrong
  • Delete your information
  • Stop sending you any marketing emails you've signed up for

Some states, including California, give their residents specific privacy rights by law. We offer the same choices to every customer. To make a request, email hello@winniesdepot.com from the address you used on your order, so we can confirm it's you. If we need to keep some records, such as order and tax records the law requires us to hold, we'll tell you. We won't treat you differently for making a request.

Children's privacy

Our store is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll make that clear on our website before it takes effect.
